Big Bang‘s “Sunset Glow“

Big Bang was really waning on me for a while. The music they were putting out just wasn’t cutting it anymore. Remember how happy you were the first time you heard “Lies”, like how AMAZING that experience was? I didn’t feel that way about Big Bang music for a long time after “Lies”. They lost  the magic. They tried to recreate it with “Haru Haru” which was bascially “Lies Part II”, but it just wasn’t the same.

But then “Sunset Glow” came out, and it was like a breath of fresh air. I got that same “Lies” feeling again. They sampled Lee Moon Sae’s “Red Sunset”, and it saved their lives. If they let G-Dragon do his usual emo piano bars, this song would have sounded like “Lies Part III”.  

The constrast between the upbeat tempo and the sad content is genius. I can’t emphasize how much I love that happy/sad combo. The lyrics are SO PERFECT. I love them so much, I put them on my desktop background!  

The MV is fanastic also. It’s fun, cheerful, and colorful instead of that dark, dreary emo eyeliner thing they’ve been doing for a while. In all, this song is PERFECT. “Sunset Glow” redeems my love for Big Bang.

Big Bang + Hyori Perform at MMFK Awards

Big Bang is officially Lee Hyori‘s favorite dongsangs.

Hyori sounds like she’s singing karaoke when she’s singing to Taeyang‘s “Look Only at Me”.

What the F is going on at 2:55 between Hyori and G-Dragon?!!??!

TOP‘s hair looks like he stuck his head in front of a fan for an hour.

Ahhhh!!! TOP and Hyori kiss at 4:35!!!!! She’s like a bigillion years older than him!!!! After they kissed, I think everyone in the audience was like, “WTF just happened?”

Big Bang’s “Number 1″ Leaked!!!

Damn! Big Bang‘s new song “Number 1″ is HOT HOT HOT.

TOP sounds mighty FINE in this song. His grunts are sooo sesshi!

Taeyang is one smooth operator. His voice is simply mesmerizing.

G-Dragon‘s English has improved drastically. I can actually understand 90% of what he’s singing!

Their new album “Number 1″ will be released in Japan on October 22nd.

Mistaken Identity: Big Bang

When I first discovered Big Bang, I couldn’t tell the difference between G-Dragon and Seung-Ri. I thought they were the same person!

Tae Yang as the one with the cornrows. TOP was the one with the eyes. And Daesung…well, Daesung was the ugly one. Every boyband has at least one.

G-Dragon Not Fashion Icon

Recently, an article came out that claimed G-Dragon of Big Bang is a fashion icon.

That’s the BIGGEST JOKE I’ve ever heard in my life.

Purposely mismatching kooky articles of clothing and having crazy hair (don’t even get me started on the hair) does not constitute as fashion icon status.  

Some of the clothes he wears, he looks like he got dressed in the dark.

Hahahahahahahaha!

He’s no longer this cute though. He has to uphold that whole hardcore rapper image. I’d rather him be cute than act wannabe gangsta.

I don’t care what anyone says, his rapping is whack. There’s something unfitting about his voice. His pitch is too high or something.

He would be a super talented producer if only he figured out how to come up with different arrangments. When he’s produces, it’s like he works off a template.

Big Bang’s Fashion

Remember when back in the “Lies” phase, G-Dragon from Big Bang wore that hideous looking scarf thing?

When I first saw it, no joke, I thought it was THE UGLIEST looking thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

Fast forward to a year and a half later…I have given into pressure, and I now OWN one of those hideous looking scarf things. I hang my head in shame.

Not only do I regret this particular purchase, but I also regret buying the magenta-colored version because I look like I’m wearing a picnic blanket around my neck. 

What’s even more concerning is that Big Bang’s fashion sense is starting to influence my wardrobe. Ahhhh!!!

August 20th: Currently Listening To…

BIG BANG HARU HARU

If you mashed together their previous hits “Lies” and “Last Farewell”, you would get “Haru Haru”. It sounds EXACTLY the same.

Nevertheless, you can’t deny how hot the song is. Damn you, G-Dragon for your catchy-ass arrangements!!!

The rest of their Stand Up 3rd Mini Album though is weak, with the exception of the intro. But even the intro falls short because it’s only like a minute long. It’s like they ran out of lyrics, gave up, and just settled for a short song.
