Not k-pop related, but Kelly Clarkson’s new song “My Life Would Suck Without You” ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

I think I’m reverting back to American pop now because of this. Kpop’s been going downhill lately with the brussell sprouts of a bigillion new idol groups every other week and lame songs/dances *cough* SNSD Wondergirls *cough*.

This song has been on repeat for the past 5 days!!! That’s how much I love it.

Big Bang’s “Sunset Glow“

Big Bang was really waning on me for a while. The music they were putting out just wasn’t cutting it anymore. Remember how happy you were the first time you heard “Lies”, like how AMAZING that experience was? I didn’t feel that way about Big Bang music for a long time after “Lies”. They lost  the magic. They tried to recreate it with “Haru Haru” which was bascially “Lies Part II”, but it just wasn’t the same.

But then “Sunset Glow” came out, and it was like a breath of fresh air. I got that same “Lies” feeling again. They sampled Lee Moon Sae’s “Red Sunset”, and it saved their lives. If they let G-Dragon do his usual emo piano bars, this song would have sounded like “Lies Part III”.  

The constrast between the upbeat tempo and the sad content is genius. I can’t emphasize how much I love that happy/sad combo. The lyrics are SO PERFECT. I love them so much, I put them on my desktop background!  

The MV is fanastic also. It’s fun, cheerful, and colorful instead of that dark, dreary emo eyeliner thing they’ve been doing for a while. In all, this song is PERFECT. “Sunset Glow” redeems my love for Big Bang.

The “One Man” Kim Jong Kook’s “Today More Than Yesterday”!

I love this song. I’ve been listening to it on repeat like a fiend.

Kim Jong Kook is the ultimate ballad singer. He’s so effortless. Plus, he looks so cute in plaid. 

I’m so glad he came back from the army.

As a girl, why would you throw things out your window at Kim Jong Kook!?!?!!?!?!? He’s so freaking lovable! That’s an impossible scenario!

Leave it to Kim Jong Kook for an awesome song with pretty lyrics.

August 28th: Currently Listening To…

EPIK HIGH UMBRELLA

This song is pure GOLD.

Oh, Tablo, Mithra,…and that other guy who hides behind the DJ booth, you’ve really outdone yourselves.

Epik High slowed it down and switched it up from their usual fast-paced style. The song is both new yet nostalgic at the same time. No matter how many times you hear it, you always want to hear it again. It lingers and leaves you wanting more.   

Younha’s voice is PERFECT for this song. 

And the lyrics! *faint* They’re so…gorgeous.

Epik High is taking rap music to a new playing field.

August 20th: Currently Listening To…

BIG BANG HARU HARU

If you mashed together their previous hits “Lies” and “Last Farewell”, you would get “Haru Haru”. It sounds EXACTLY the same.

Nevertheless, you can’t deny how hot the song is. Damn you, G-Dragon for your catchy-ass arrangements!!!

The rest of their Stand Up 3rd Mini Album though is weak, with the exception of the intro. But even the intro falls short because it’s only like a minute long. It’s like they ran out of lyrics, gave up, and just settled for a short song.
